The fifth China-EU Investment and Trade Fair opened Monday in Chengdu, capital of southwestern China's Sichuan Province and is held on 22 to 26 Oct. in Chengdu . The sidelines of the 11th Western China International Fair the China-EU Investment and Trade Fair aim to promote cooperation between China and the EU in green industries, such as new energy, biomedicines and electronic information.

More than 300 Chinese and 100 European companies are participating in the two-day fair.

By now, Chengdu had attracted contracted investment with a total value of 690 million yuan (104 million US dollars) from 15 EU countries and 272 EU enterprises.
